The impact is devastating, with more than 60,000 individuals being displaced from their homes as authorities try to restore peace. The armed forces, paramilitary units, and police are facing immense challenges in trying to bring an end to the violence.
Amidst the chaos, the situation has escalated to a point where police armouries have been looted, causing further concern for the safety of everyone involved. Additionally, the unrest has resulted in the destruction of hundreds of churches and more than a dozen temples, causing significant damage to places of worship and cultural landmarks. Entire villages have been ravaged, leaving a trail of destruction and despair.

In a significant development, the Manipur Police have apprehended one of the alleged masterminds behind the appalling incident that took place on May 4th. The incident involved two tribal women who were subjected to a horrifying act – they were paraded naked and molested by a mob in a village located in Senapati district.
As soon as the distressing video of the incident came to light, the authorities sprang into action, forming several police teams to investigate the matter. Their swift efforts led to the arrest of a person suspected to be the mastermind behind the incident. He was apprehended in Thoubal district.
